Everything from underwear to bed rails, here are the things I absolutely needed while I was pregnant, and all are under $50.
Instagram Influencers make being pregnant look effortless: Glowy, gorgeous, skinny (minus the bump), and most of all - NOT painful whatsoever.
Reality is: You're always hot and sweaty, always hungry, everything hurts and you feel like you're dying, and you're not always going to fit into everything.
...Well, at least for me this is how pregnancy with Jayse was.
But, there were little things that I found to make my life a little easier and more manageable. Here are my top 5 items that I absolutely LOVED, and are probably not on that Pinterest checklist you found.
40 oz. Hydroflask: There are a lot of different thermos-type bottles and containers on the market, but I've had my Hydroflask for like 6 years and it has been my BFF during pregnancy. Ice cold water made the dreadful Las Vegas summer bearable, so having my flask with me at every moment was vital. Additionally - The Wide Mouth Straw Lid made drinking (well, chugging) water a breeze and the loop made carrying it a lot easier.
A Bed Rail: In the last few weeks of my pregnancy, my SPD was unbearable - It made it difficult to sit, to walk, and to move. Lying on my back was comfortable but not good for the baby, so lying on my side was so painful. Going from a lying position and trying to get up was almost impossible without help. Once I got this bed rail, I was able to move more independently. While this didn't solve all my sleep issues, this definitely helped!
Pregnancy Wedge Pillow: I couldn't get a pregnancy body pillow - we have a Queen sized bed and with Tofu sleeping with us, having a giant ass pillow in the bed was not going to work. I needed something for my belly; the weight of gravity pulling my belly down when lying on my side was painful, and regular pillows hurt. Once I got this wedge pillow, I felt the weight of my belly lift up off the top of my hips and I could finally lay comfortably on my side. Truth be told, I still kinda use it just because it makes my hips feel a little better.
High Waisted Underwear: Every single hospital checklist said high waisted underwear, but finding affordable, comfortable ones was so hard to find! I finally found these that are SO comfortable, are very supportive, breathable, and don't dig into your skin like other elastic-lined underwear. Postpartum, you'll still be bleeding for a while, so you'll want something that is high waisted to hold your adult pads in place. These were so perfect, I still wear them from time to time!
A Comfy Robe: There comes a moment during your pregnancy where you will find yourself wearing only a bra and underwear because that's all that is comfortable for you and your ever-growing belly. I had gone to store after store trying to find something cool but soft, long and that would cover me without me feeling like I was wearing this giant, puffy robe like hotels and spas. This was one of my splurge items because well, it is a pricer robe, but boy oh boy was this one of my favorite things to wear. As an added bonus, it's super cute, making it an awesome swimsuit cover-up to wear at the beach or pool later on. I was so obsessed with this robe, I ended up buying two! I 1000% recommend!
**Note, I do receive a 10% commission from Coco Moon Hawaii as apart of their Brand Ambassador program, but please know that I would never recommend a product I wouldn't love or use myself!
I would love to hear what your must-haves were during your pregnancy! Bonus if you still use them!
